Call for Attention I'm really craving contact today. It's not just today, even. All week I've wanted to talk to people, to email them, to participate in threads on boards, whatever. I've been frequenting the Cornerboard, emailing gushing fan mail to Sars (her post this Tuesday made me get all weepy in my office), and photoshopping graphics in the forum at Television Without Pity. I even spent an hour or so redesigning the look of my forum, and have been participating in the tiny little discussions over there. Speaking of which, it's been a banner week at the forum. We haven't had this much activity over there in over a year I suspect. Of course, it's just four of us mucking around and creating lengthy and incomprehensible numbered lists, but it's fun. Oh, there's a poll over there I'd like some response on too. I've had a few comments about features of the old layout that aren't in the new version. If you have a second, pop over and vote on what you miss most. If there's enough interest, I may even bring some of them back. Speaking of the new layout, Terry pointed out that people viewing this page using 800x600 resolution had to scroll across to read the whole thing. I'm working on fixing that, so let me know if it keeps happening. What was my original point? Let me scroll back... Oh right. I think it's because Lisa is back on her evening shifts at Amalgamated WeOwnEverything Corp. She's been working three weeks of evenings followed by only one of days, and with her back on the night shift, I'm missing her terribly. I like it when we're both on days. Lisa gets up a half-hour before me to get ready. She packs our lunches while I feed the ravening hordes. Then when the day is over, she's either off early enough to meet me at home, or I can pick her up at the Zoo (which is just far enough outside of the downtown core that I don't get sucked into it's rush hour whirlpool). Then we can make dinner and spend the evening together. When she's on nights, she gets up after me, and I don't see her until she gets home a half hour after I should be in bed that night. So I can stay up for her (and be tired the next day) or go to sleep and only see her when I kiss her goodbye in the morning. The benefit is that she's making good money. In March her combined commission and salary should exceed my salary alone. And she works fewer hours than I do. I'm good with that. I've told her already that if she makes enough to support us both, I'll be a househusband. No problem. Anyway. I'm feeling chatty. Email me, post on the boards, whatever. Keep me entertained.
By the way, in my email address on the page here, I've added a little SPAM protection to help keep down the loads of crap I receive. Apparently it's confusing some people. I had a conversation with my sister that went like this:
So there you go. One final note: Happy Birthday Dad!
Apparently she is, which leads me to think that she'll be the "Someone will be killed next week!" that they were hyping in next week's Angel promos. They'll bump her off long enough to have the kid, and then bring her back to life afterwards. Television. Sheesh.
