2002. Entry #181
Some people have no idea
of the amount of pets we have.
It is a little scary sometimes.
Scary as in, 'if we forget to feed them, they will devour us' scary.
But we love them a lot.
Lisa's Mom popped by the
other day to see the piggie babies, and she brought her digital
camera with her. So now we can show them all off!

There's the five of them,
with a computer diskette for size comparison purposes. The one you
can't see in the back is the runt of the litter, the only one who
shares his Mom's whorls. Here he is by himself.

Here are the proud (and
tired) parents, Jersey and Button! Jersey is proving to be a fine
daddy, helping keep all the babies in line and safe.

We also grabbed the opportunity
to capture shots of the rest of the menagerie.

This big fellow is not
a groundhog, but Idaho, one of our other two guinea pigs.

His momma, Molly, isn't
anywhere near as big as he is, but she still dwarfs the happy family
in the next cage.

Our sullen PAC-Man Frog,
Arvid. Isn't he ugly! He's still small yet, as PAC-Man Frogs can
grow to dinner plate size.

The clown in the above
shot is Pippin, our Senegal parrot (otherwise known as the Tiny
Dinosaur). It's still weird to see a bird happily mucking about
on his back with his feet in the air, but he seems to like it.

And finally, our most recent
acquisition, the tiny and surprisingly friendly Peanut. Lisa's store
no longer sells Siberian Dwarf Hamsters, so this little lady needed
a good home. We already had the right gear to keep her happy and
healthy, so we adopted her.
We completely forgot to
snap new pictures of Samantha and Emma, our beautiful cats, so here's
two shots from a couple years back. The black one is Sammi.

One Year Ago: I
was still on hiatus, but in 1969, Mariner 6 flew past Mars.
Mom
Rating: 3 out of 5. Mom'll shake her head in dazed amazement
at our little zoo. But she'll think the babies are cute.
