2002. Entry #176

Click for the big version |
I put my first piece of
wall decoration up in my office today.
Since a local theatre approached
her to do a joint promotion, Lisa's been getting all sorts of perks
and stuff from her new movie contact. Besides lots of free movies,
she's also been getting all sorts of promotional crap, including
big beautiful movie posters.
So hanging on the wall
just inside my door is the poster for the upcoming 'Eight
Legged Freaks'.
Woo hoo! A giant mutated
radioactive spider movie! I love giant mutated radioactive spider
movies!
I knew that there would
be a break between last month's orgy of entries and my first posting
in Year Three, but I didn't realize it would be this long. I just
haven't had it in me folks. I was plumb written out. Spent. Empty.
Lisa thinks that 300 posts
is a good goal to set for next June 30. 300 posts in three years,
eh? That means I have to post a minimum of 10 times every month
over the next year.
Can I do it? Perhaps...
perhaps... So long as I don't get fired and spend another eight
months on hiatus, that is.
They've finally returned
my laptop to me.
I feel so much better.
A screen with a resolution high enough to actually display all of
a web page at a time. Room for layered windows and stacked displays!
Enough memory to run multiple programs at the same time without
dragging the system to a grinding halt. I'm in heaven.
Seems the fan only needed
a cleaning and realigning, so they didn't have to send off for a
whole new part. Good deal. I couldn't have taken another two weeks.
It's Stampede week in the
big city. Not that you could tell from the people in my office.
Where the rest of Calgary ripped their new cowboy duds from the
plastic wrappings and slapped them on, the sports nuts here at The
Sporting Goods Company seem to have totally ignored the change.
Which is fine by me.
I love Stampede week, but
you won't catch me in denim and long sleeves in 30+ degree weather.
I sweat enough in shorts and a t-shirt, thank you very much.
One Year Ago Today:
I was still on hiatus, but in 1923, all non-fascist parties in Italy
were dissolved.
Two Years Ago Today:
I ain't listening, Kenny Rogers
- Where I talk about gambling at the Stampede casino with Lisa and
my Mom.
Mom
Rating: 3 out of 5. Mom likes Stampede, but isn't so much
into giant radioactive mutated spiders.

Apparent Legacy
Take
me home, big fella
