Entry #153
On my way to work this
morning, I saw a tumbleweed on the freeway.
It's an omen of something,
I'm sure. Of what, I have no idea.
Yesterday,
I put a new item in the left-hand column, a 'What Would Taste Good
Right Now' line, and the first entry there was 'Chocolate Banana
Milkshake'.
I got an email from my
Grandma today, where she said:
"Co-incidentally,
'chocolate banana milkshake' was Grandpa's & my favorite treat.
In our courting days - those stone-age days - we would share one
after a show and walk home - because we couldn't afford streetcar
fare as well!"
That's so cool. So Grandma,
next time I get one, I'll get two straws and share it with Lisa.
Tonight we plan to go see
Attack
of the Clones. The reviews are still scattered all over
the board.
But I think it's going
to be good. The reviews I've read have suggested that I am the perfect
audience for this one. A long time fan, who likes all the other
movies (yes, even The Phantom Menace) and who is not going to pick
it to little tiny bits.
Good for me.
Of course nothing ever
works that easily. We got our tickets Tuesday, but Lisa's boss just
called her with a sore throat and begged her to come in to work.
Now I have to go to the theatre and try to switch our tickets for
the 11:00 show, hoping that they still have tickets for it. If not,
I'll have to (shudder) wait to see it until Sunday.
Had a nice long lunch at
work today. Mr. Crumb took an extra long weekend, so isn't in today.
Frank is off in California, and the only boss in the office is Gidget,
who likes long lunches as it is.
So we all went off at about
11:45 and got back in the office around 2. And not much work got
done after that.
That's the way to work.
On
Survivor: Hey, that's four picks right in a row for me! Wish
I had put money on it.
I think it was pretty close
for a while. I have a feeling Kathy might have sided with Sean and
V right up until the end when Sean blew up at Tribal Council and
pooched the deal for himself.
Okay. Final picks for this
weekend. Pascal doesn't stand a chance of winning immunity in either
challenge. He's done. Neleh won't survive a big physical challenge.
The last challenge is often endurance, which is Kathy's strong suit.
So. I see Kathy winning both immunities, and V getting the boot
on the first vote. I predict Kathy will keep Neleh with her to the
final vote. And in the final vote, I see the winner being... Neleh!
You just wait and see.
One Year Ago Today:
I was still on hiatus, but in 1845, the rubber band was patented.
Mom
Rating: 3 out of 5. Mom's not so excited about seeing Attack
of the Clones. She's going out to the property this weekend instead.
