I'll only be a minute

Let's talk about momentum.

Momentum is basically the thing that keeps a rock rolling and a ball flying after it's been whacked. While you have it, it just keeps on flying. Why you run out, well, you basically crash to earth.

Which is what happened last week.

We don't know where this virus came from, but it was the nastiest flu virus I've ever had. Enough to knock me senseless for two days, and enough to have me take Lisa to the hospital just to get her re-hydrated.

We're both okay now. I'm pretty much over it and Lisa is getting her strength back, but when the only two people in a household get sick, things pretty much shut down.

The pan of Grandma soup* gets left unwashed for days. That pile of dirty Kleenexes never quite makes it to the garbage can. Those sweaty clothes become kitten nesting material.

And, of course, the web site doesn't get updated. So now you know.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, one of my favorite holidays. Despite Joel's rancor on the subject, I happen to find a day devoted to love a fine idea. Flowers, hearts, candy, smooches... It's all good.

I must admit, it is easier to take when you have someone to share it with. Someone who likes to get all extra gooshy and mushy. It's nice.

I think I'll cut this posting short. I know, I know, after a week and a half you'd think I had more to write about. Hey, sometimes life just goes on.

*Grandma soup: Campbell's original chicken noodle, which Grandma fed to me most winter days as a kid. What were you thinking?

Over in the forum:
Survivor deals

Mom Rating: 2.5 out of 5. Mom's glad we're feeling better. She probably is wondering why I bother to write when I have nothing to say.
On Buffy: I think they are going to get rid of Dawn. Now she knows that she is not real, she's getting really interesting as a character. Which means they'll bump her off. Sigh.

We miss your hamster.
