Went and saw "Bring It On" last night.
No, no, it wasn't that bad. Really.

hey hey! ho ho! lots of chippies in a row! |
I believe there is a time for all movies under heaven. A time for comedies, a time for romance. A time for drama and a time for action. A time for Fargo and a time for Showgirls. Yea, even a time for silly cheerleader flicks and Ed Wood productions.
It all comes down to mood. If you want a serious movie with deep resonating meaning, I wouldn't exactly recommend going to see Bring It On. But if you're looking for a little light entertainment, a little vapid humor to watch and then forget forever, this would be a good pick.
Basic plotline: Girl becomes head cheerleader. Discovers all their routines have been stolen from other school. Hijinks ensue. In the end everyone is happy again.
What, you expected more?
The movie is about silliness, humor and light fun. You know the plotline, you recognize the characters, you know that he and she will get together in the end. Okay, the plot is predictable, but so what? Everything you see doesn't have to be deep and meaningful. There are days these movies are what I want. I want to laugh at shallow characters who get what's coming to them. I want to cheer when everyone bands together and succeeds against impossible odds. I want to be happy when she dumps her loser boyfriend for the guy she should have been with all along.
I want to be entertained.
Kirsten Dunst is great, as she always is. Eliza Dushku is perfect as the tough girl who's a cheerleader at heart. Plus there's a whole lot of teenaged girls in cheerleader outfits, and that is never a bad thing.
Nope. Dumb movie.
Mom Rating: 2 out of 5. I don't think Mom's into cheerleader movies. Probably thinks I wasted my money. She might be right.
Big Brother note: Again didn't watch it. Am I getting a life or something?
I
want to hear about that party again.
More!
Talk more!
Take me home, big fella
