Curious about what Parvati meant on Survivor when she said she was a model boxer?
Well, the whole model boxing video (put out by nudie mag Perfect 10) will be out in January, but some of Parvati's clip (safe for work) is below.
Ah, the grand experiment.
Not 'What will happen if we divide the tribes up by racial lines?' It's more 'How much free publicity can we generate for the 13th season of this show?'
It worked. Every racial activist group was on standby, waiting to burn down Mark Burnett's house should their members be shown as less than perfect. Mainstream and Internet media alike were all abuzz.
And apparently the tribes are merging tonight. So much for racial splits.
I'm three for four in my picks so far this year. I missed picking Sekou to go home, but I was right about Billy. And I was right about Jonathan and Yul spending time in Exile. So here's your picks for this week, an Exile and Boot from each tribe:
Exile: Yul, Ozzy, Adam, Nate
Boot: Jenny, Cristina, Jessica, Nate
I'm doing pretty well in the office pool -- after the show three weeks ago I was tied for sixth place out of 20 people. Woo!
This week: The commercials are suggesting someone goes home hurt (maybe). My prediction is that someone who is very competitive, yet not as effectual as the others gets hurt but stays. Then the most annoying and dangerous guy/girl gets sent home (as tonight is likely the merge).
Boots: Nick, because he's the toughest-looking remainder of La Mina, so he's likely to be picked off early. But if Casaya decides to take advantage of their 6-4 ratio, it's Shane who's on his way out.
Exiles: Hard to pick, as we don't know what criteria will be used. Last in the challenge? Group vote? Picked by the winner? I'm going to go entirely random, and use two numbers generated at random.org and counted alphabetically from A for each team.
For Casaya: 3 - So, Terry.
For La Mina: 4 - Cirie it is!
I can't BELIEVE they sent Bobby home. That's one less person on my dream team. S'okay. Word has it everyone in the pool has lost one or two people, so we're still okay. My pick of Terry to go back to exile was bang on though, so I still got some points.
This week's picks! At La Mina, Terry is a shoe-in to go back to Exile should Casaya win. Terry, Dan, Austin and Nick are still strongly allied, so Sally is the one to be sent home.
As for Casaya, I think Aras is coming across as the strong one, so La Mina will send him to Exile. And I'm still hoping Shane will lose his shit and go home.
I did real well last week. I picked the boot and the exile correctly, and two of my guys (Bobby and Bruce) were on the team that won immunity and the reward. Picked up big points in the pool. Let's see if I can do it again.
Casaya: Shane is seriously losing his shit. I saw on TV people are calling him a big-time sneak and villain, but he's really not. He's whiny and useless and insane. I think it's finally his night to go home. I also think that if La Mina wins the reward they will choose to send Danielle to exile island.
La Mina: Dan and Terry are still solid, and they have Austin and Nick firmly with them. Therefore Sally would be the one to go home and Terry would head back to exile.
Okay, I'm too tired for a full analysis. But based on last episode's 'other tribe picking who gets exiled' scenario, I say the exile will be either Bruce or Terry.
As for boots, I'm still picking Cirie to go -- the promos look like Shane is gone, but I doubt those -- and Ruth Marie. She's no one's ally.
I'm scoring a big nothing again in my picks -- as predicted! Sigh.
Okay, this week: Let's talk about Casaya. First off, I suspect Shane may lose his shit again, which doesn't bode well for him. Then again, Cirie is useless and has no allies. Neither does Bobby, but no one seems to be targetting him at all. I'm hoping Bruce/Mr. Miyagi will prove himself worthy to stick around too (especially since he's on my dream team).
Exile people seem to be pretty random so far, so I'll go with my gut.
Exile: Courtney
Boot: Cirie
Over at La Mina, things are more hunky-dory. Dan and Terry still are allied, and they are scrambling to draw more people in. I don't see any stand-outs yet. Which makes this extra hard. Ruth Marie kind of annoys me, so we'll go with her.
Exile: Dan
Boot: Ruth Marie
Okay, I'm going to make my picks now, so you all can make yours in whatever office pool you may be in. Just remember: If I pick 'em, it's sure to be wrong.
Okay, let's look at the teams. First we've got the younger guys, the Viveros tribe. Aras, Austin, Bobby and Nick. Austin did a lot better than I expected, not being quite the flake his bio describes him to be. Aras? Still flakey. Neither Bobby or Nick did anything to distinguish themselves. Aras is the weak link so he'll end up on Exile island, and his flakiness will get him sent home.
Bayoneta, the young girls. Boy, not a one distinguished themsleves at all. Misty is trying to be all sneaky and stuff, but it's really not in her. Courtney, on the other hand, is all crazy with the dead-turtle worship. She'll get the bump and I think Sally will end up on Exile Island, just because the girls will try to hand the duty around.
La Mina, the older guys. Whew! They worked hard! Terry seems very stable and he and Dan made an early alliance, which tends to work well. Bruce may go over the top with his workoholic-ness, but Shane is an early irritant. I'd say that he will go home and that Dan the Skinny Astronaut will be the weak link ending up on Exile Island.
Finally the older women, the Casaya tribe. Idiots. Seriously, why bump Tina, the one guarantee that you will SURVIVE out there? Out of the rest, Cirie is both useless and irritating. Picking her for both.
Of course, this is all going without any idea that they might re-shuffle tomorrow night (wink wink), but I think my picks will carry over.
Dream team! I need to pick three who will do well for the rest of the game... I'm going with these three:
Bobby: There's always one thick-necked jerk who makes it through. Bobby's my pick there.
Bruce: He's too much like Mr. Miyagi for me not to pick him.
Nick: Solid competitor. Knows how to keep his head down and do his job.
Okay! Go!
Okay, we aren't sure exactly what the teams will be yet, just that there are four and they are divided male/female, young/old. Apparently the dividing line between old and young is somewhere between 32 and 35 for the guys (which doesn't bode well for me) as there are four guys 32 and younger and four 25 and older. It's rougher for the girls, the cutoff being between 31 and 32.
So we can assume the tribes are as follows:
1) Aras, Austin, Nick, Bobby
2) Bruce, Dan, Shane, Terry
3) Courtney, Danielle, Misty, Sally
4) Cirie, Melinda, Ruth Marie, Tina
In my current pool, we're being asked to pick a dream team by next week (to let us have at least one episode to get a feel for them all) and to pick one person from each team who might go home tonight and who might go to EXILE ISLAND.
My picks!
Team 1) Austin looks like the physical weak link, so I pick him to both go to Exile Island and go home.
Team 2) I think Dan will fare the worst in the challenges, so will go to the island. Retired astronauts are not always in the best shape. But I think Shane would be sent home. The three older guys will bond.
Team 3) I have a feeling Sally won't do well in the challenge, so she's off to the island. I'm torn between who will annoy the others the most -- Courtney or Danielle, but I think Danielle would be the one to go home.
Team 4) Shoe-in. Cirie will suck at the challenge and would be the one to go home. I don't see the rest of them bonding that well though.
So there you go! I'll post my dream team sometime before next week's broadcast.
The new season starts tonight! Tomorrow I rant on how crappy I think the new twists and turns were! Stay tuned!
Y'all hear about original Survivor winner Richard Hatch? Seems the jury didn't buy his 'I thought Mark Burnett and Co. would pay the taxes on my winnings' line of defense. He now faces up to 13 years in jail and a $600,000 fine.
Just a warning to any reality show wannabes out there -- pay your taxes!
