City of Villains
Anyone out there in the blog-o-sphere play City of Villains? I'm playing a character on the Champion server and looking to hook up with people I actually know for a change. We could have our own supergroup and everything! Joy!

After only seven months, I've finally got around to activating the Pop Blog. I'll be concentrating all my pop culture goodies over there now. So if you want to read about all my movie news, television rants and other such nonsense, it's all over there. I'll be tweaking the design and elements and such over the next while, so expect some oddities.
8-Track Mind will remain the catch-all for everything else. Technology goodies, cat stories, pictures, etc.
The McCarthy/Red Scare era is the aspect of American history that fascinates and horrifies me the most. Good Night, And Good Luck is the story of Edward R. Murrow, possibly the most renowned broacast journalist ever, and his fight against that monsterous time.
Here's the new trailer for Doom with clips of the first-person perspective I mentioned before. Including the chainsaw! Hee!
Here's the other clip making the rounds R_Tam_Session_1_Excerpt.mov (link goes straight to the video).
Looks like Joss Whedon is doing a little viral marketing for Serenity. Reportedly, this video was 'found' on a file sharing service. Watch for more as they turn up.
Not sure what I think about this. A couple guys who quit their jobs and tried to drive across America on a Segway, and filming a documentary about the whole thing. Doesn't seem that gripping.
The only cool thing about the upcoming video game-to-movie Doom is that I hear there will be a long first-person perspective scene, where it will be just like the original game.
I don't know if it's just the cool heist music, but the trailer for Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang makes the movie look like a lot of fun.
What?!? Why didn't anyone tell me that there are new Greg The Bunny short films showing on IFC?!?
It's time to make your picks!
A Roman Polanski version of Oliver Twist? Interesting...
Everything Is Illuminated looks pretty trippy.
For Lisa, who wonders how they might be able to make Mr. Darcy likeable.
The nice thing about trailers for movies like Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo is that they help ensure that I will never, ever watch a Rob Schneider movie again.
So when you view the full, uncut trailer for The 40 Year Old Virgin, be sure to do it at work with the volume cranked up.
Yeah. That's right.
be sure and go watch the trailer for Undiscovered. Then you won't have to pay to see it in theatres as it shows the entire story.
Scroll down for the Serenity International Trailer with even more visual goodies than the previous one.
Missed the King Kong trailer last night on TV? Well, it's online and it's cool.
A neat interview over at Coming Soon with the real Coach Carter. I was surprised how much a role he had in the movie.
Okay, it's formulaic, predictable, and will likely be forgotten ten minutes after watched, but I think I'd still like to see The 40 Year Old Virgin
Trippy! Neil Gaiman's Mirrormask! (direct link to trailer)
Looks seriously weird.
A first look at the trailer for Terry Gilliam's new film, The Brothers Grimm.
I had some troubles viewing it so here's a direct link that might work if the above doesn't.
Typical media displays of handicapped people don't mention the athletic accolades, the laughter and the hot women. That's what makes Murderball special I guess.
Favorite quote? "I've actually done more in a chair, than I did able-bodied."
It's all clear now. TeeVee tells the truth about Lost!
Have a look at the new trailer for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It's even more trippy and drug-induced than I could have hoped for!
Okay, even if you will never actually see March Of The Penguins, you should watch the trailer. It's the cutest and sweetest thing I've ever seen.
I almost feel bad for the folks behind Sky High. I mean it sure looks fun, but being the next family/comedy superhero movie to follow The Incredibles isn't a nice thing to happen to any movie.
I don't care if the trailer for Flightplan looks sort of confusing and unclear, but love me some Jodie Foster so I'll see it.
The full trailer for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe is now up at iFilm!
Cool. MovieFone has the new full Wallace & Gromit movie trailer.
Okay, so first I see on Ain't it Cool News that Joan of Arcadia is cancelled. Drat.
Then I go to CBS itself to verify this (I couldn't, as the announcement hasn't been posted at this time) but see the winner of this season's Survivor right dead-centre on their page. We haven't seen the episodes yet, but have them all on tape at home waiting for us to watch. ARGH!
(If you comment, don't mention any Survivor-related names. Lisa still doesn't know the winner, so we'll keep it a secret as long as we can.)
OH YEAH! The trailer for Serenity is up!
How...odd.
Why have I never heard anything about this film? Or even the books it's based on? Looks cool!
Fametracker's Fame Audits are always cool, but this is the coolest of the lot: William Shatner.
The biggest thing I can say about Shatner is that he has succesfully eliminated the Captain Kirk stereotype in my mind. For now and ever he is "Denny Crane".
Huh. I thought Tru Calling was gone forever. I guess not.
Because the original was so good, they made a sequel.
I'm shaking my head in dismay.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Joss Whedon has been signed to write and produce the Wonder Woman movie.
Cool.
No matter how disappointed I am in the previous movie, I keep getting all giddy when a new trailer is released.
It looks so good...
Of all three Hitchhiker's trailers I've seen, I think I like the third one the best. Of course trailers one and two are good, but the third uses the guide itself.
Also, they've changed the release date to April 29, the day before the wedding. Think Lisa would kick my ass if I went to see it without her (as she's decided we can't see each other for the entire week before the wedding)?
Heh.
Well, it certainly looks pretty, but... I just don't know.
New Sin City trailer is out! Woo hoo!
Finished reading the book last month - loved it, loved it - and now it seems that New Line is making a movie out of Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell.
Cool.
Does this movie look as completely horrible as I think it does?
A little movie to send Ronja scrambling for dry land.
Someone answer this for me: Is it true that Ewoks were never actually 'named' in the movie? So like no one ever actually said 'Ewok' at any point?
This is one of those things where I go, "Oh, of course they... wait... um... what about... no..."
According to RottenTomatoes, Constantine got (at time of this writing) a 48%, which means 48% of reviewers thought it was worth seeing. I know Roger Ebert panned it.
Probably see it anyway...
A film based on Terry Brooks' Magic Kingdom for Sale books? Could go either way...
So as we're leaving my last meeting, I see the girl beside me has a movie pass, one of those big promotional ones for an advance screening.
"What movie you seeing?" I ask.
"Oh, uh..." She flips it over. "Constantine."
"Sweet! I'm dying to see that one."
She frowns and looks at the pass with a vauge expression of distaste. "Really? The description seems kinda... I dunno..."
"Hey, if you don't want it, pass it my way."
But no. She just looked puzzled at my excitement and went on her way. I was tempted to grab it and run -- why waste it on someone who won't appreciate it -- but that would likely be seen badly within our corporate environment.
Sigh.
Because the first one was so good, there had to be a sequel? I don't think so.
Star Trek: Enterprise has been cancelled. And I was starting to really enjoy it again this year.
According to Neil Gaiman, the corect trailer for Mirrormask is up on the website.
Looks pretty trippy.
While the trailer suggests this is a seriously messed up movie, Neil Gaiman says Kung Fu Hustle is one of the best ones he's seen at Sundance this year.
Tim Burton is an odd, odd man. But I certainly shall watch everything he puts out.
This is wrong in so many ways.
So Martin Freeman, I just realized, the bloke who is going to play Arthur Dent in the upcoming Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy movie, is the same fellow who played ‘John’, the porn stand-in in Love, Actually.
Makes me giggle a bit.
The theme and contestants for Survivor 10 have been released! make your pool picks!
Guess I better finish work on the Pop Blog...
