Party Party

Thought that my office Christmas party would provide all sorts of funny anecdotes for a journal entry, stuff I could wrangle into some sort of cautionary tale about how not to behave, but everyone was in their best behavior.

Good food, a live band, lots of fun... I like Christmas.

Look for something funny tomorrow, as I try to get on Santa's naughty list.

Heathens!

Riding the C-Train this morning, I saw a woman FOLD DOWN THE CORNER OF A PAGE IN HER NOVEL TO MARK HER SPOT!

AUGH! I just about lept across the train to save the book from her evil hands. You don't DO that sort of thing!

I also saw a girl eating Pocky and chocolate milk for breakfast. Mmmm.

Plumbing the Depths

It's nearly Wednesday! That means there's a new entry at What I Saw Today...

Christmas Present!

I totally want this shirt. I'll wear it at my next Vampire gathering. Hee!

Movie Madness!

I am SO torn. Saw the teaser trailer for The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and I was SO jazzed. It leads off with the music 'What A Wonderful World' which was the tune that wrapped up the BBC television series, which means they have the fans strongly in mind...

And the cast looks good too. Martin Freeman looks perfect, as does Zooey Deschanel, and I think Sam Rockwell will be hilarious as Zaphod.

But Mos Def as Ford Prefect? I just... I mean he was great as Left Ear in The Italian Job, but Ford Prefect is... dagnabbit.

Oh, and we saw it in front of National Treasure, which was, as Lisa aptly described, 'the bastard child of Indiana Jones and the Goonies'. Fun.

Evil Dead Remake!

Sam Raimi is gonna remake the classic Evil Dead movie! This can ONLY be good!

Bloggers

Anyone out there know what happened to the Cowtown Bloggers site? It seems to be long gone. The ring still looks like it exists, but the site it links to is a placeholder for a domain store.

Celebrity Sighting?

There's a guy in my building who looks just like William Hung.

Wonder if we can get him to sing 'She Bang' at the Christmas Party...

Them's good eatin'

"The Monster Thickburger consists of two slabs of Angus beef (664 calories) and four rashers of bacon (150 calories) with three slices of processed cheese (186 calories), plus mayonnaise (160 calories) sandwiched between a sesame seed bun (230 calories) spread with butter for a final 30. The equivalent of two Big Macs...you can throw in a medium fries and a soft drink and consume an adult's recommended daily intake of calories at one sitting." - Marcus Warren, The Telegraph, New York

The best part is that the Hardee's website is advertising it right about their link for low-card healthy options.

Weird

The dates are coming up in Czech format. Strange...

Cyst

To answer the question in the comments in the main area, I had a cyst removed from the side of my neck. Nothing cancerous, just a little plugged gland that was busy making a pearl.

Oh, and if you missed the reference to the cyst, it was in the notify email. Sign up now!

Isn't this an exciting way to make my first post here?
